Seismology

A little warning

Please note that most sections of this website are still "under construction". More content will be added as teaching and research schedules allow (so, probably very slowly). Thank you for your patience as we work to fully flesh out our website!

Meet our lab!

This little clip was shot recently as part of a video-tour of Tate Hall (our new home) and showcases our lab and most of its members. Take a look at our space, some of our equipment, and some of the work we've been doing.

Where to find us

The Seismology Lab is located in room 324 of the beautifully renovated John T. Tate Hall. Faculty and postdoc offices are located in the same floor of the building. [COVID-19 update: Like most other people we are all working from home as much as possible these says, so you probably won't find us in Tate]

Ground Motion Visualizations

Have you seen the wavefield animations from large earthquakes that we post on twitter? You can download full resolution files here. Also, you should follow us on twitter @UMNSeismology.
